I lost my Nokia 5125 phone a couple months ago and had lost all hope ever finding it again. Well today, I found it laying in my gravel driveway in one peice barely. Anyway, after taking it apart everything looks ok withonly the faceplate smashed and in need of a new LCD. I can get it o light up for around 2-3 seconds but them nothing. I took apart my new Nokia 5125 and put the new IC board and LCD on the old phone and get nothing on the screen other than the lights for a couple seconds.
In any case, I'm very surprised it survived at all from being run over several dozen times and going through temperatures averaging -5F for the last few months while dipping down to -40F for several week in Decemeber. This is sort of like that Timex commerical from the 80s to the extreme.
Anyone know a good troubleshooting page on Nokia phones?
EDIT: Ohhh yah, I forgot... when a battery is attached. The main chip inside the phone actually heats up. So it is getting a signal of some sort...
