Hi guys...my Monsoon MM2000 just arrived and I hooked it up. For the first 10 minutes..it was great..then suddenly everything became so thin and airy. I thought it was the speaker "breaking in". I checked the sub...all i can hear is really LOoooow and silent bass..even when the bass volume and master volume is cranked to the max. The music I am playing is some orchestral pieces with lots of percussion.

Even my old monsoon MH500 has louder bass than this. Could the sub be dead after 10 minutes?
Note:
it is plugged in a surge protector.
Never maxed the volume, when i first turned it on, the vol is @ 25%.

anyone here have experience with dead subs?

Did you smell anything? I would doubt it as it doesnt sound like you were pushing it hard.
Was the amp wired correctly (Impedence wise, 4 ohm stable's dont like 1 ohm loads)
Check the amp.

Are the wires ALL connected? Correctly? A loose wire will screw you all up.
Check the wiring. Double check it to be SURE.

Can you move the sub cone by hand? Gently press it in to see if it moves, but dont try to push the cone out thh back obviously. Do you hear any sounds? Does it move relatively easy?
A blown motor can still mvoe and play, but will make a scraping sound. This is what happened with my Brahma (Ahem, back to the sine wave thing and pushing it to hard, but thats another story)

Start there.

no smell
there is no amp config needed as the all the sattelites are spring loaded

all wires are checked.

The sub cone are covered behind a mesh..so it cannot be moved.

Well if you've got nothing else to try I'd test out some other speakers on your system and vice versa.
