I got a new video card and I am having some problems.
Its a DVI VGA output and I have 2 vga monitors hooked up, 1 with a dvi to vga adapter XP Pro SP1.
When I first installed it with the supplied drivers things were working fine. Then I noticed the text on one of my monitors was fuzzy and after changing the refresh rates with no luck I replaced the monitor.
The card didn't like that and I got a BSOD and had to restart. As soon as the system loaded (POST ok) one monitor is black the other has 2 ornge pixels lit, and a few minutes later I get another BSOD, then the pc restarts.
I go into safe mode, replace drivers with new drivers from ATI. Restart same problem. Safe mode again remove all drivers reload it (w/ supplied drivers) finally works, but ONLY with the supplied drivers, new ATI drivers don't work at all.
But if I restart the computer I get the same problem, black screens to a BSOD then an auto reboot. Wash rinse repeat. If I use teh system for more than 5 minutes the system restarts and the cycle continues. Temps all under 50 degrees C.
Is it safe to say my card is a dud? or am I a dud?
