Is my network antenna safe outside?

I have this wireless network adapter.

I just installed it into my PC and connecting to other networks (especially wireless N networks) is SOOOOO much more reliable and faster, i'm surprised it made that much of a difference over my Linksys Wifi G WMP54G 4.1 PCI adapter.

My only question is, is it safe where my antenna is? It gets best reception right on the other side of my window. Will rain screw it up? Should I take it off of there? Or maybe surround it with a plastic bag?

Sorry if this is a noob question.

Thread locked because the application (using other's WiFi without specific permission) has been the cause of arrests in several U.S. states.

So your stealing other people's wifi?

Umm, how about it's not stealing if your neighbors leave it open for access. I even have permission from one of my neighbors so it's a non-issue. In a liberal city such as this, people will share something as long as it doesn't require much effort, like internet. Also, there is a coffee shop in range to (that i get drinks from) so if i connect to them, it's a non-issue as well.

Can yI justget my question answered and to not probe me on ethics? If this was P&N or ATOT, I'd totally understand, but it's not.

because the general policy around here is to *not* assist people stealing in any way, shape or form. youve been around here long enough that youre probably familiar with that regarding other issues.

anyway, generally ISPs have terms of use clauses that specify the connection is not to be shared blah blah blah.

yes, a lot of people do it anyway.

as it is, if you didnt specifically buy an outdoor, weather proofed or all-weather antenna...then having it out in the weather is a bad idea that will eventually cause it to die.
