Is my monitor going bad?

The image of my monitor occasionally starts to shudder. It lasts from 1 - 4 seconds then stops. I can only describe it as a shudder or shiver with some very fast moving but faint interference.
My system is about a year old with a Matrox G450 video card.
The monitor is a Princeton Ultra 92 which I've had for maybe two years.
What's up?
I first noticed this about two weeks ago.
It's beginning to happen much more frequently.

make sure the vga monitor cable is snugly connected to the video card. it's either ur monitor of the video card. also... try running a lower resolution & refresh rate to see if that helps any.

Does the OSD (on-screen display) jitter/shudder also? If so, it's probably EMI due to a bad internal connection, power supply, or capacitor. Also, try moving the monitor away from any sources of EMI, which can interfere with the electrons from the CRT and thus cause them to jump, jitter, shudder, or band together. If you know someone who is qualified, have them look at it. If it's simply a loose connection, it will require about 30 minutes to repair.

EDIT: Spelling corrected
