Plugged the my monitor into my second comp to upload some seti blocks and the picture only filled half the screen, strange i thought, as the machine is not in a case i thought i must have dislodged the vid card from the agp slot as its not held in place by thhe case so i rebooted the machine, everything looked good untill it loaded windows where i was greeted with a very garbled screen moving in and out and making a high pitched noise, the sort of efect you get when you run a monitor at a res its not designed for, after some messing about i found it to work at lower resolutions / refresh rates, the best i am able to run now is 1152 x 864 x 16 bit, i was using 1280 x 1024 x 100hz, i was also using the refresh rate fix proggy as on xp it only lets me set to 75 max as standard, when this proggy is run it says i can run 120 hz where as the max rate for that res is 100, i set every res to max and checked in the propertys and that displayed 100, the only thing i can think of is that it was running at 120hz? the osd said the vertical refresh was 100 and horizontal was a little higher.
the monitor is a iiyama vision master pro 451 which from all reports are very unrealiable 🙁
anyhow my thoughts are RMA time 🙁 and what with christmas next week i might not get it replaced till the new year ;(

Did you install the monitor INF file? The PNP monitor INF is suck. Go into display properties, monitor and see if it says "unknown" or "PNP Monitor". Other than that, it sure sounds to me like it's about had it.

😀 Are you on TeAm AnandTech? 😀

I'm a HUGE SETI cruncher...almost 15,000 wu's! 🙂
