Is My Monitor dying?

hello. i have an aoc 22 inch monitor which i've had for 8 years. recently ive been getting discoloration in games (like the sky in bf3) or just the display in general.

ive updated the display drivers but still nothing. its not the gpu because i tested the monitor on my old desktop and had the same discoloration.

any ideas?
 
If the discoloration is in the monitor, then it's not going to show up on screenshots. I don't see any sort of discoloration in your image you linked.

Try taking a picture with a digital camera or cell phone? Something with decent Macro capability, maybe without a flash?

lol you're right. was viewing the forum on the phone and the screenshot didn't show the discoloration. will have to take pic of it using a phone
 
Is it a LCD? If it is an old tube type keep magnets (speakers) away from it and degauss it. If it is an LCD cables and you might try a different port if another is available.
