Is my monitor dying?

When I was playing vice city, my monitor started making a wierd buzzing sound, so I turned it off and made sure the power cable was plugged in tight. Now the buzzing sound is gone but now half of my screen is warped. Everything on the left side of the screen gets warped while the right side is fine. This is a 5 year old 17" HP monitor.
 
Try degaussing it... you can find degause in the menus where you adjust size and brithness, etc.

If that doesn't help, then yes, it's dead. 🙁
