Is my monitor dead?

I am suddenly seeing a blurred screen, kinda like it's out of focus. There is also a "ghost" image which is clear but rolls down the middle of the screen from the top to bottom. My video card is an ATI Radeon. I tried different resolutions, but there was no difference. I'm 90% sure it's my monitor, but I don't want to do all the heavy lifting involved in attaching a different monitor to verify this is one of you genius' out there can cofirm my diagnosis.
 
... try to resize the picture with the monitor, sounds like it is rolled all the way to one side or something...
