MSI K7N2D ILSR (Nforce2). and barton 2500+

yesterday, I was going to update the bios. So I downloaded bios file from MSI and was preparing for the update. I rebooted the comp and entered into BIOS to relax the FSB from 200 to default 166, changed voltages to by H/W (just changed the settings). and rebooted..... and nothing comes up.
I cleared the CMOS...nothing.
I took the battery out for a few min. and put it back in.... nothing
I forced the FSB to 100 with jumper.... nothing....

it was time to panic !!!

today I swapped the bios chip with exact same board (another computer I'm running).... nothing.
I swapped the videocard... nothing.

Now I'm thinking if my mobo is dead.... by changing bios settings..

any suggestions?
I was going to take the board out and test it throughly by changing CPUs and all, but I'm planning to upgrade the system to AMD64 platform anyways next week (parts are on their way), I'll leave it till then.

in the mean time, is there anything I can do?
any suggestions?

If a setup will absolutely not POST, then it is time to rip everything out of the case and set it up on a desktop with the bare essential parts, making sure the motherboard is on something that lifts it up a bit and is non-conductive. The motherboard box is a workable choice.

Once motherboard is set up, use the following parts: CPU, HSF, RAM, video, PSU, monitor, PC speaker (not your multimedia speakers but the little speaker in your case unless your motherboard has one built-in). Get all these hooked up and installed, and have NOTHING ELSE hooked up or installed.

Now clear CMOS and see if it'll boot up. If it doesn't, do the fans still spin? Are there beeps from the PC speaker? Do the fans jiggle a bit but not spin? Plug in your keyboard and try it again - do the keyboard lights flash?

Try those things and get back to us. Good luck, and Godspeed!
