Will ga6bxc my mobo bottleneck a g4 mx440 golden sample?
Im new to computer tech stuff since last few weeks when i been sussing out an upgrade, my mobo can run @ 133fsb and I have a p3 450 upgrading to a bigger 370 socket cpu with a slocket.
Is the agp slot gonna get fed enough juice to run teh card to its potential or is something going to bottleneck and is so by how much?
Thanks very much for any help.

The BX chipset only supports 2X AGP, the Geforce 4 MX is a 4X video card. It should work, but there will be a small performance hit. Your biggest bottleneck is the cpu. While other people will have different views, I would say any modern video card needs at least 750MHz, anything less really kills video performance. Up to 1GHz is a good improvement, after 1.2GHz the benefits are much less the higher you cpu speed is. So anything below 750MHz is a waste, 1-1.2GHz should be the minimum upgrade to shoot for.

I believe that is 4x as well--I don't think it costs them anything to integrate the feature, but that's just IIRC.

The performance hit that you're taking is at greatest ~2%, and some well respected web sites have tested various cards at 1x, 2x, and 4x and found that 1x is the fastest and most stable, so who knows?

When cards start pushing more polygons, then the AGP speed will become more relevent.
