Is my memory speed right? *confused*

My RAM is G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

CPU-Z & AOD report the frequency as 669Mhz (3:10 FSB: DRAM, 9-9-9-24). Isn't 669Mhz for PC1333?

I can go into BIOS and change memory speed to 800Mhz from Auto, but upon booting programs report it as 400 Mhz (half the speed!) with 6-6-6-15 (1:2).

Why is this the case? There's no option in BIOS to change FSB : DRAM... It's highly irritating me.

Also the motherboard has 4 memory slots... 1 pair of black color and 1 pair of red. Both rams are seated in red, if that makes any difference... (maybe try 1 per color?)

All other settings are at default, just multiplier for OCing.

DDR3-1600 runs at 800Mhz. Setting the BIOS to "800", probably means, DDR3-800, which would be reported by CPU-Z as 400Mhz.

There should indeed be a memory speed setting in your BIOS, but it won't usually be listed as a ratio, rather a speed, espressed as the default effective clock speed, if the FSB is stock.

You should know that DDR3-1600 is NOT SUPPORTED on AMD CPUs. The highest that they do is 1333.
