Hello, I have a Asus p5b deluxe motherboard and I was wondering if my extra memory would work with the ram i already have in there. I have 2gb of Kingston pc 5300 ddr2. But i also have an extra 1gb (2x512) of pc 3200 ddr2 memory. The reason I am asking is because I tried to install it already, and for some reason the computer runs , but the monitor won't turn on with the computer. After taking out the ram again, the monitor turns on again.

I am wondering am I installing it wrong or is it incompatible. I am asking because on my old dell dimension 8400, both memory fit in the system and my computer detected a total of 3gb of memory.

Thanks

Which processor are you using? More importantly, what is your front side bus? The pc3200 only supports a 200MHz fsb, so if you're running anything higher, you may be out of luck.

Yar, the actual FSB of the e6600 is 266MHz. You could try to loosen the timings and raise the voltage in the bios to see if you can get it to run, but chances are your best bet is to sell it to someone who can use it and get a new set.
