Is my Logitech Cordless Mouseman Wheel dead?

My mouse started lagging really badly at first and i figured it was probably just the batteries so i put in fresh ones and a couple of days later its starting again, i stopped responding in counterstrike so i could only walk but not look around. and when i fired, i kept firing, wouldn't stop until i slammed the mouse back on the mouse pad. Is it on its last legs? I'be had it for 3 years now and its served me well, should i be looking to get a new one?

you prob can get it replacd, but I suggest picking up the new logitech MX700 i shall have one next week
