I just got a brand new ViewSonic VX2025WM 20.1" Widescreen LCD from Directron.com after returning my first one to a B&M because I found it cheaper online. I took the B&M one back this morning because I thought the new one was working fine... until tonight.

I used my computer this morning before work, and shut it down and turned the monitor off when I left. I came home today, 8hrs later to my to find some faint colored lines in the left part of the screen. Was I seeing things? NO the monitor wasn't even powered on yet! I tried swapping the power cable, changing outlets, unplugging all cables, everything--it just shows these bright vertical bars you see in the picture above.

Here are my specs:
Athlon64 3000+
DFI UltraD LanParty
XFX 6600GT (using DVI port and cable that came with the monitor)
WindowsXP SP2 w/ 71.xx NVidia drivers

Anybody had a similar problem or have any insight? Obviously it's time for an RMA, but until then I'm out a freakin monitor :|:|:|

Guessing from the bit the box was beat up and the panel was acting weird before it died by coming on and not being full-bright for maybe 10 seconds, whereas the one I had before was like instant-on, I would bet it was refurbished and the retailer sold it as new. There were even some indention markings on the inside styrofoam that made me suspicious.

If these guys don't accept an RMA easily and quickly for it, they're getting a huge negative on resellerratings. I'm not going to take my chances with them again and will get it from a more trusted retailer like the egg.
