ok, i bought a viewsonic VE170B online some time ago, and it didnt come with a power supply. so i just went out and bought a generic 12v power brick (stop me if i cant do that) and accidentally plugged the polarity cap thing in backwords. i plugged it in, pressed power, heard 1 or 2 slight:😛ops:: and then nothing. never booted on. is this something i can fix/get fixed somewhere?

thanks guys

Was it new or refurbished?

If new, just contact the manufacturer and see what your options are.

Good luck.

you could be lucky and it has an internal fuse near to the incoming supply.
But i dont think so - but then again, I've never opened one up!!

Most likely you damaged the POWER INVERTER board.
It is fused so you may be in luck.

Another possiblity is the fuse in the BRICK itself.
