Is my IPAQ DOA?

Finally got my Compaq IPAQ 3135 from Staples today and I can't seem to get it working. I've plugged in the charger and flipped the "on" switch. I keep pushing the the power button but the thing won't react at all. Is this unit DOA or am I missing something?

Any advice appreciated.

There's a switch on the bottom of the unit that you have to move in order to activate the unit

Yeah, I flipped it, doesn't seem to make a difference.

Hmmm... sounds dead then, there's not much to turning on the ipaq

flip the battery switch a couple of times and hit the on button a couple of times. Had to do that on mine to get it to work

I figured it out calling tech support. Turns out what I thought was the "on" switch at bottom was actually the lid covering the switch. So all I had actually done was closed the door.

Some of us are just technically gifted like that....
