Is my HDD dead?

Ok I have a laptop HDD that keeps rebooting whenever I try to boot into windows.

Since the ODD on the laptop is broken I can't use my UBCD to access the HDD.

Well I took the HDD out and hooked it up to my USB adaptor and plugged it into my main desktop and did a CHKDSK. It went through just fine. I figure I would just fix the windows. At the time I could access all my data and such. But I didn't feel like getting it right away (bad mistake).

So I rebooted into the Windows Recovry disk and did a "Fixboot and FixMBR".

Popped it back into the laptop it when through the windows startup screen as usual but again never makes it all the way and just reboots.

Well at this point I figure I'd just get the data off and reinstall windows.

Well when I plug it up again Windows no longer sees it. Disk Management just sees it as an Unallocated HDD. When I try to initilize it, disk management says there's an internal error and to retry it.

Any ideas on what to do from here? At this point all I want is to get my data off.

Someone else here will have to inform you how best to get the data off it but the reason Windows wasn't booting was most likely because a driver which was loading caused an error which in turn made the system reboot. The HDD as such was and still is not faulty.

Going into safe mode would be the first thing to try then by hitting F8 just before Windows starts loading.
