Is my Half-Life locked to my email account?

I have a Half-life original CD. Can I just sell the CD, or do I have to give my Steam acount also, like Half-Life 2?

This is an old game I have had since before there was Steam.

Then, I got a platinum version and that is what I played on Steam as long as I can remember.

To be sure, is there a way for me to find out if I have registered the CD key from a particular CD on Steam or not?
