Is my graphics card overheating?

Every now and then I get flickering black/red boxes in Quake 4, happend in FEAR too. Is something wrong with it?
My system specs are
p4 2.8
1 gig kingstom ram
9800xt (not OC'ed or using the ATI overdrive feature)

It sounds like it is overheating to me. Is the graphics card overclocked, or are you running it at stock speeds?
