Ok, some wierd things have been happening with him all my life but here recently i have only been able to piece them together. here are some facts about him

1. Lawyer
2. Owns allot of renter houses, apartments and has men for "collections". (only found this out 5 months ago, but apparently he has always owned this crap for longer than ive been allive:confused: )
3. parents dont go into detail about his past much, owned a newspaper among other things
4. apparently their was an "incident" involving him and a few of my relatives that one of my relatives went to federal prison for, parents wont tell me what it was, reffered to it as "bad investments" and one of my cousins said that if their "investments" had paid off, we would all be millionairs
5. When he divorced my grandma, her social security (state employee, not much of a paycheck) was worth more than his, meaning he had not been paying hardly any taxes.
6. my dad talked about him carrying around thousands in cash in his wallet (no, im serious THOUSANDS), all the way back into the late 1970s and when my dad asked him why he as it, he always said he was "holding it for somebody"
7. named citizen of the year in his city and having the reception at the local casino
8. my mom called him about some issues we were having with her employers (she works for the state) and he said that he contacted the head of the democratic commitee in his area, wich is also his district attourney where he lived and that they had dug around that they can pin some sorta child abuse crap on a certain politcal leader in the capital of the state that was causing her to have problems
9. we needed some poblicity for something my mom did and her cousin who worked for the local newspaper only was able to get a paragraph in it and my mom called up my grandpa and he got an entire coloured page for it in a section of the promint newspaper in the city in which he lived (a large city) for free
10. Every year we have our christmis party at casinos where he lives, he is always able to get free rooms and them for him and us and free food.
11. Local car business gave him a new lincoln town car every year in exchange for his services and the car they gave him the previous year

Maybe he's not in it but has close friends in the mob? Sounds like he might be shady though, but don't tell him that you may end up missing ;)

Wouldn't your relatives' convictions be a matter of public record? You should be able to find out what they were convicted for.

Obviously, you just aren't ready to working in the family business, you'll be involved when the time comes. ;)

I don't think he'll be "alpha-male" enough to survive in it...unless they nickname him Fredo.

They'll just give him the little jobs, like putting the pressure on certain individuals who need a certain change in mind.
I just hope he doesn't faint at the sight of blood and broken bones.

County courthouse wherever the trials were held. For state trials - don't know about federal.

I've never done it, so I really have no idea... Text would be a good place to start probably. Probably not worth the effort. You could always just go up to your grandfather and ask if he's "connected." :)

I think there was a website that listed all that had spent time in the Federal pen. My uncle went to Jail for tax evasion as well and owns buildings downtown and car dealerships. He reminds me much of your grandfather. My Uncle, however, is just a plain jane shady ass businessman. Hell, my brother bought a new car from him and he tried to rip him off. Aren't you living around the Gulf Coast? You talking about Casinos in Gulfport/Biloxi? Does he know Mike Gillich? What is your ethnic makeup?

He sounds very well connected. Whether it's the mob or politics is hard to say. Little difference sometimes.
