Lately my 8800 card has been lagging and spitting out anomalies in 3D mode. Everything works fine in windows but as soon as i try to play a game or run 3dmark the problems kick in. Is my card dying?

I reinstalled drivers and DX9 to no avail.

PSU is a Hiper Type-R 580w.
Cpu is e6300 oced 2.333.
I had the videocard oc'ed to GTX KO speeds but i have since turned off the oc'ing in the video. System ran smooth as butter with those overclocks for months and everything stayed very cool. Some time last week this started happening. I was away from my computer somewhat so i'm not sure if anything might have been done to it to effect what is going on here however i can't find any additional software that might be causing the problem.
Everything in 2d runs perfectly. Now i fear that it is a hardware issue even moreso. When in vista running aero the 3d engine keeps resetting itself as well. Could this be a power issue? Checked my voltages and they all seem fine/normal.

Check your drivers and whether they've been "updated" in any way.
To me, it sounds like a driver issue....

Well i seem to have fixed the problem. I decided to take the card out and check all the connection & power supply connections. I paid very close attention to everything i was doing. The only thing i noticed is that the card was seated maybe 1.5mm out of place on the top of the card where the screws hold it in place. It is a very heavy card. I'm guessing that the vibration from the fans caused it to slip. Anyway this is the only hypothesis i can come up with.
All seems well now though. :)
