My friend keeps offering me this phone from Verizon and he says he works for some company so it's all legit.
He's offering me the Motorola V60 with any service plan I want. This phone goes for $250 in the store, but he's giving it to me for free.
He said if I get people to come to him, he'll pay me $15 for each person. What the heck?! He keeps saying he just works for a company, but this just sounds too weird. Anyone have any idea how this is being done?

If he works for Verizon and you know him in real life, yeah, my friend's dad works at AT&T and he got 6 Nokia cell phones with the unlimited plan for free. It was like a family plan though. So, he might just have an extra phone with service.

Ask for a detailed explanation- you deserve to know. It could very well be ok and legit, as cellular service is one of those industries that has a lot of markup on a product (the service anyway) that can be expendable.

The thing about Verizon is that you can bring any compatible from the street and have it activated there. From what I understand, you can't do that at SprintPCS (they want you to buy their phones).
