these days is so hot,
room temp is around 28C

my e8400 is @ 3.825Ghz (9*425fsb)

Everest:
idle:
CPU 37C
#1 44C
#2 55C

loaded:
CPU 48C
#1 64C
#2 66C

i have read some post saying mostly the #2 CPU will be a little hotter than #1.
My biggest concern is, is the temp i am having killing the CPU?
I am planning using this CPU for 3 - 4 years, at this temp, can it last that long?

Intel's specification is 71.6C max, and that should get you 3 years minimum (warranty period). As far as how long each individual chip will last, your guess is as good as anyones.

I think you should be ok.. My old chip ran in the 50's almost all the time and it lasted me over 2 years no probs and I think i coulda gotten another year out of it atleast.
