Is my DVD-Rom Dead? Please Help

I have a Samsung TS-H352A DVD-Rom it was working just yesterday and now the cd tray wont eject. The drive is reconized in the bios and windows but i get get the tray to open. The light never comes on. I have made sure that is getting power by using different power cables but nothing works. Please help.

AMD64 3000+
Asus A8V Deluxe
XFX 6600gt
80gig WD
Samsung DVD

 
i did that paper clip trick and i got the tray to open but i have to manually open and close it and it wont read any disc
 
Hi, When the power connector falls off the CD or DVD the light never comes on and the tray wont eject. With power only connected the tray will still eject. Before you give up, open up and check the power connector. If it's OK then the drive is probably dead. Hope this helps, Jim
