Hi every body, its been a long time since my last post.
Yesterday I was playing Rise of nation when my computer did a reset. So the second I was back in windows i've checked my asus Prob. My CPU was at 67 C( i've set my computer to shot down at this level). I want to know what is the normal heat level for my cpu running with the stock amd fan and what is the dangerous level of heat i should avoid reching.
This the first time i have this problem. I've never cleaned my case since november. Btw..I'm not over clocking..oh and what fan souhld i get if i chance it?

Thx to all of you.

PS: you can see my system by clicking on the system rigs link below

Oh one last thing...my cpu is now running at 56C but i did underclock it...my fbs is now at 100...not 133....but i dont want it to stay that way...

What case do you have and how much airflow do you get? What is the ambient room temperature? The stock heat sink and fan should give you a lower temp than that if you have good case cooling. Check that and make sure the fan is working and the heat sink is still seated on the CPU properly.

My case is a Antec SX835-2 with no modification( the two case fan are in the rear).
Room temperature is at 29 C.
All the fans works properly.
The only thing i didn't check is if the heat sink is still in place...but i see no reason why not since my computer never move and its a new problem...my computer has been runing ok for 8 month now.

67C is a bit too high. 29C is pretty high for room temp, so I wouldn't be suprised with 60C on CPU fully loaded, but 67C? maybe there is something you can do to bring it down.

Try to reseat your heatsink and make sure it's properly orientated (the clip is applying pressure directly on the CPU core).. If it's been a while since you installed your rig, it may be dust that are clogging up your heatsink and vents.

And yeah you need to tell us your ambient temps to see what needs work.

EDIT: whoops I see that your ambient temp is at 29 C.. that def. means that your heatsink is not working properly

I doubt that the processor is defective. Even if it is, I think it'll just die rather than outputting more heat.

Ok to let you know...my cpu fan is running at 4400 rpm ...and my mobo temp is 34 C so its now case cooling problem.

thats very nice, don't expect your cpu to last for very long. Anyway, your temps are much too high, what kind of airflow do you have in your case? do you have an intake fan and an exhaust? Even at stock, your temps are much too high. Personally, I like them under 50c at all times but I think under 60c (load) is okay. Try leaving the side panel off, what kind of temps do you get?

Have you tried cleaning out your fan to see if there is dust build up between the fan and heat sink? is this the first time you have checked your temps before? if not what where your temps usally?

No I haven't check between the fan and the heatsink.
My normal temp was around 57 C normal, now i reach 70 when i use the cpu at 100%

I have been keeping mine under 45 with full load, but now that summer hit, I just laugh when it keeps warning me around 55. I know these things will still work up to like 90 degrees or something.

A quick fix to overheating in hot summer days is: leave your side panel removed, and if that is not enough, use a small floor fan pointing directly at the mobo. This will likely cool down the CPU about 10C.

i got it o/c big time, i want it to die, so i can have an excuse to get a barton. great airflow and cooling btw
