idleing at 53 isnt a horribly high temp but it is above average. stock fans tend to not do the best job. if you are worried then go out and get a new cpu fan.

i had one of those damn vaio's too, they didn't even put a chasis fan in the thing. plus its a micro case, so your temps are fine, but i learned alot from that pos. i sold the thing this past x-mas and built my own.

not much, lol

seriously, i'd leave it complete and just build a whole new one. why do you want to hold on to the opticals? you can get a nec-3520 for 65. i could possibly see holding the HDD but i think youre better off just offering someone a complete, name brand (crappy as we both know) working machine. i got 300 for mine with a 1.5 p4 and 512 ram. pu the old graphics card back in and kept my 5900-xt, since sold as well.

i see. i guess my point was you can get more for the whole unit than if someone has to work on it because most people willing to work on/build/mod a computer wouldn't consider a sony.
i sold mine to a guy i know at what i thought was a fair price for both, but i was happy to get that. yours is a 2.4 tho and probably a little newer, i think mine was an rx-5550.

well, if ya sell it here of course, you need to have a starting price. i would kinda estimate what you think each individual part is worth, ie $50 mobo, $125 cpu, etc considering the parts are used.

just find a number you're comfortable selling it for, list it and note "all reasonable offers considered" or something.

and browse the fs/ft forum to see what people are selling like parts for.

I was going to ask the same thing, but my cpu temp is staying around 30 to 32 C, so I guess that is good?
