just upgraded my tbird 1.4 to athlon xp pally 1800+
i have it running at 1750 (2100+) mhz (12.5 * 140)
my bios shows multipliers till 14 but even if i set it to 13 , it still only boots up at 12.5 *140
is my multiplier locked, i can run the cpu at 2200+ (12.5 *145) but my ram isnt the best,

well that depends on if you want to spend an extra few bucks on an unlocking kit.

Unless you go with extream cooling your most likely wont puch a pally much past 2200+ heck AMD had problems geting TbredA past 2200+. The money would be better spent on better RAM. upping the fsb is going to give you better proformance are the same stable clock speed. ie 25 x 66mhz is not going to be as fast as 12.5 x 133mhz. Up the fsb, but make sure the rest of the system can keep up.
