is my cpu gone?

I came home last night and my computer was making a solid beep. I turned it off and started yanking out stuff. Two things will make the beeping stop. removing the graphics card(i tried two working ones in it so its not the card its self) OR if i remove the CPU ( i only have one CPU so i cant tell if the CPU is shot or the M/B) . I have a athlon 1.4 and a MSI k7t M/B. Thoughts?
