Well, I have an AMD TBird 1.2 Ghz with an Alpha 8045 on an asus A7v133. I put it all together and booted it up. I heard a couple of beeps and then hit "del" key to get to the bios. While I was in bios, about 30 seconds into it, the computer froze...I couldn't do anything. None of the keys worked.

I reseted and nothing happen. No beep noise this time. All the fans started spinning and I saw my drives light up but nothing on the screen. All I saw on my montior was black. I did not hear the beep so is my processor dead?

I took off the heatsink and it doesn't look burned or chipped. It looks fine but is there any way i can tell. Could it be some other kind of component problem?

Hve you tried resetting the bios? Usually needs a jumper shift with the power plug disconnected from the MB.

Was it one long beep and then 3 short beeps? I think that's the indicator that's the video card.

look in your manual, if you didn't get one short beep, your bios is telling you something.
