It's a Plextor 12/10/32 and I've had it for ~2 years I think.
It recently started making bad CDs. It'll burn fine, but when I try to read them it takes a while and Windows finally tells me there's been a Cyclic Redundacy Check error. Like if there's folders, it'll list them fine, but it screws up when I try to copy files off the CDR. Audio CDs I burn are recognized perfectly, but the CD players can't access some tracks or fast forward properly.
It's only the burning, it can still read CDs without a problem. Could cleaning out the drive and lens with one of those kits help, or do I have to accept the fact that it's passing away?
On another note, what would you recommend to replace it? Are the Liteons noisy? (I can get a 52/24/52 for cheap)
