Is My CDRW Dead????

I just noticed some problems when trying to burn some .iso files from my CDRW. It always gives me errors with serveral burning software I've tried. And when I try to insert a data cd just to read from it....it gives me:

G:\ is not accessible
The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.

The drive is a Plextor 12/10/32A (yes from the stone age). So what do you guys think...dead? Or is there a quick fix for it?

Get a dry type of CDROM cleaner; its a CD with a brush built in.

Use a can of air to blow out any extra dust in there first. Insert the CDROM cleaner. Play. Repeat. Test.

Its worked everytime I've done it now.
