Is my AIW x800 XT being bottlenecked by my CPU?

P4 2.4 GHZ and AIW x800 XT running on a 350W.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but are AIW considered video cards and not graphics cards?
My frame rates for CS:S: 20 when seeing multiple players on screen, 30-40 normal

WOW: settings tuned down I can achieve about 20-35 ish

Running both games at 1280x1024, no tweaks to AA/AF, vsync off and on didn't change anything.

I just want a bit more FPS so I won't experience noticable slug-motion. HELP !!

Suggestions? Overclock? Get new CPU? :(

Your CPU is a pretty decent bottleneck for that card. Not horrible, but that card can push a lot more FPS if you throw some more CPU at it.

I don't have any experience with AIW vs non-AIW but I have and x800xl that performs better than your XT. I have a P4 2.8 which I usually run at 3.0 or 3.2 - check the overclock forums and do some research into your motherboard/ram as you might be able to hit 3.0 fairly easily. My low-end framerate while raiding with 40 people in WoW was around 25-30 fps at 1600x1200 with AF maxed, AA off and vsync off. While running around any areas with normal amounts of people I'd get 60+. In areas with no other pcs or npcs I'd get 85 fps (my refresh rate).

I should mention my x800xl is always overclocked about 10% while gaming (it's not a very good oc'er and I don't remember my settings as I'm at work atm) which gives me another 3-5 fps depending on the game.

You need a faster cpu for CSS. A 3.0ghz pent 4 upgrade will give real nice boost. 50 fps at 1280x1024 all settings maxed.
Your video card is fine.

If you can overclock your cpu, go for it.

Yeah, that GPU can do better, I was able to play CS at 1280x1024 with 4x Adaptive FSAA and 16x Aniso with no problems 60+fps Average (The only problem was that my monitor ran at 60Hz at that resolution) So I turned down the resolution and increased the FSAA level to 6x, simply outstanding.
