I'm putting together a system. It's a Soltek 85erv2 and the videocard is a Radeon 9000. I've got everything together, it boots up fine, but the monitor never comes on. The green light just blinks.

I know the monitor is fine. (I'm using it now) The videocard is fine. I tried it in this system as well. And I used my Geforce4 4200 and it did the same thing. Monitor never came on.

It's a brand new mobo. Just got it on Wedesday. Are these the symptoms of a dead agp port? I need to figure it out before I request an RMA.

Thanks

Update

Okay, I've tried everything. PCI card. I tried changing the ram. Changing the harddrive. Reseated everything.

Still nothing. Is there anything else i can try? Or is the board plain just defective.

Thanks

Definitely check to make sure the video card is in the slot good as Gunbuster said.

Also, if you have a pci vidoe card laying around you might put it in as well and try to boot up. Not real familiar with the Soltek boards but it might be that the bios is set to use pci instead of agp.

Not a really common issue with most newer mbs but worth a try before you request an RMA.

Even if the bios is set to PCI as the primary. Shouldn't the video card in the agp still come on? Tried clearing the cmos?
