Well, this 9800 se has gone through quite a bit. From having it's stock fan die then it burning up, but it magically still worked. Now, about a year after that happened the card keeps freezing (video freezes) every 30-60 minutes or so. I think it might be the fan (A crappy vantec cooler) might not be properly hitting the heatsink so it's not cooling down as it should. I just purchased an arctic cooling silencer but I won't have that for a few days to see if that really is the problem.
Is there anything you guys think that might cause this. When I put in another card (some really old nvidia) it seems to work fine, and I don't get freeze ups so that's why I'm pretty sure it's the 9800.
Do you think it's the cooling or something else?
