Seems a bit weak to me as well, but shouldn't it be time to ask these questions before you place your order instead of afterwards?

I know. well I jumped on the X1900XT and then I saw reviews which mentioned what a power hog it is. After Installation how do I know if its doing well or on the edge. Will i see performance dips or soemthing?

i would think its a good idea to rma the psu while u still can and get a stronger psu. i think symptoms are shutdowns while gaming/benchmarks, fps drops in gaming/benchmarks and monitor stutters during use.. anyone know any other symptoms?

See the sticky up top on power supplies for freeware programming that will track voltage levels, but they don't always tell the whole story. All kinds of mysteryous stuff just stops happening when you've got good, stout power.

As far as a power hog goes, it's not bad compared with some of the nVidia offerings. You want the video cards to do more? Ok, then they're gonna eat more power doing it.

Thanks.

Since my card is coming in Friday I could just wait and check my computer for stability. any signs of weirdness and its gonna get RMA'ed back to the egg.

Blaming lack of power on the video card won't change the fact that for upgrading video cards from this point out will take more power.

Hey I got that Power Hog thing from a newegg review so u can stop defending video cards. Am just trying to make sure the baby gets enough juice to thrive 🙂

Update. Seems to work justs fine for now.

3D Mark 05 9560 at Stock speed
3D Mark 05 10505 at CCC recommened OC 689/774

Just curious if other people have noticed this. In 3d Mark 05 when that huge mechanoid comes in with the rail guna nd starts shooting all the soldiers with orange shoulder pads there is a scene where the camera focus changes to the mechanoid and we get a front view of him firing away to glory with his rail gun. I saw couple of times that the middle of the screen just flickered black during this screen only. Any body else seen that?

Thanks a bunch guys 🙂
