Is Mwave.com becoming the next Newegg.com?

I remember back when newegg.com was the place to buy video cards and now they are billion dollar business. But I see mwave.com nipping at their heels. What has been your overall experience and thoughts about mwave.com?

I've ordered a few things from mwave.com in the past and I've been pleased. Same with newegg.com. I just go with whoever is cheaper. :D

It all depends on pricing for me too. Hell, with my AMEX I'd order from dontbuyfromthiswebsite.com if the price was right.

I have ordered many times from mwave but always do will call pickups because they're local. The prices are usually the same as newegg or about 5-7 dollars cheaper but they do charge $5 for willcall so most of the time it comes out even with newegg. I can't comment on their shipping but all transactions have been positive so far.

One thing is mwave's website sucks though.

I need a 4300, DS3 rev. 3.3, evga 7900GS and Optiarc 7170S...too bad nobody has more than 2 of those things for the right price. I'm going to have to order from 3 different vendors, wasting more money on shipping. bah.

Same. I go to mwave if I need it right away or if the stuff is too heavy.

I remember buying a lot of stuff from mwave way before newegg came along. Havent had any problems with either one. :)

Becoming? I was ordering from Mwave back in '97. When Newegg came online it's site was a direct rip of Mwave's layout.

Exactly. Everyone moved to Newegg because of the better CS, the better inventory tracking, and the far superior product layout, searching, and images. Has Mwave improved on any of these lately?

Ewiz's selection isn't even close to the variety Newegg offers....but ewiz has a very few thing Newegg doesn't. But when it comes time to RMA an item, good luck with ewiz. You'll need it.

Way way longer. Newegg didn't go live until 2001. Mwave was online in '97 if not earlier.

Yeah, I generally figure out what I want on Newegg's site, then copy and paste the p/n into mwave/zzf/ewiz and check their prices. Newegg usually gets a $5-$10/part head start though as their CS has been good to me.

I ordered from Mwave.com until I found Newegg. But I do still check their prices if I'm shopping for something.
