Is Mushkin 256MB Hi Perf Level2 PC2700 DDR 222 any good?

Mushkin are selling the PC2700 DDR Rated 2-2-2 for $99 bucks, but then is it really worth it ,
under the heat spreader, most of people says it is samsung memory.
And REALLY, how fast is 2-2-2

For my samsung CTL vesion i was able to make it into CAS = 2 , and wat is 2-2-2 means
the first one I think is CAS , then second one is it Precharge to Active(Trp) ? and third one is Active to CMD(Tred)

don't know if it is worth it or now...but sure sounds good...might you want to try it first?
no review yet either...so i will wait...the pc2100 level2 was really up to par compare to pc2700 or even pc3000
dont' know about what is under the hood tho...
usually when they rated at that speed you should be able to push the ram more...but that i will leave to reviewers to do

Ive no idea on that exact stick, but I have a 512mb stick of there level 2 PC2100 (2-2-2 stuff), its running 405.3mhz @ 2.5-3-3, good memory!

I think it's

cas-trp-tras

I could be wrong.

Regardless of what kind of system you have, the tighter you can get your timings, the better. (however, sometimes, setting them too tight may result in *reduced* performance, I see this a lot when using cas=2.0 on overclocked memory.) However, your FSB needs depend on your processor, how well it overclocks, and your chipset.

I laugh at people who advocate using PC2700 memory in a KT333 chipset at 133mhz. The KT400 will only bring this idiocy to new levels. (50% MORE MEMORY BANDWIDTH! <fine print> this extra 50% is unused </fine print>). It's like the "24bit capability" of the Audigy, the DACS can handle 24bits, the processor can't.

umm i see... is that why many ppl overclock thier memory and set it to 2.5-3-3
but isn't in that case, that is gonna be slower , even though your memory speed is 400mhz or watever..

i have a samsung PC2700 CTL version, and i try to burnin it @ 2.75 voltage
with my FSB 140 on my XP2100+ ....... but when i use Prime95 , it gave me errors...

by any chance if i purchase this 2-2-2 mushkin memory, do you think there will be a major boost ?

y boost the vdimm...unless you are running memory higher than it should...@140fsb...you don't need to up the vdimm...that might be one of the reason you are getting errors in prime95

hmm.. i thought i need to raised the vdimm voltage to 2.7 then run prime95 so it will burnin the memory ......
isn't that how everyone is doing it..

prime95 does not stress memory! I cannot repeat this enough. If prime95 is giving errors at 140 FSB, your CPU is the culprit.

you can "burn-in" memory by uppin the vdimm to 2.7...run like 3dmark2k1...sandra memory test...memtest86...maybe pcmark2002 if you want...up the fsb again...run again...then up fsb or memory bus...keep doing that until you reach a limit...then let that run for some more...maybe a day or two or a week...then try up some more......if you can't..then you hit your limit...
