Is MSI K7Masters 686 southbridge a problem?

I was going to buy an Asus k7m266 board until I read about a 686 Southbridge problem with IDE, DMA and Soundblaster live. Meanwhile I read about the MSI K7 Master being even better than the Asus a7M266 over at Chip Online with little mention of the 686 southbridge problem. So now I'm thinking the MSI k7 Master is a better board than the Asus k7m266. But what happened about the southbridge in these chipsets? Many were taking about this, now no one. Did a bios upgrade fix this? I'm ready to upgrade but don't want to buy into conflicts with my current Soundblaster live and two ide IBM drives.

Is the 686 southbridge still a problem with the AMD 760 boards?

Thank You

I haven't heard of anyone having a problem with the 760 boards. These guys just did some testing on a few boards and found no problems with them:

Frozen Frog,
Thank you, I guess the way is clear to buy the MSI K7 Master then.
