Is MS going to release a Halo 3 demo?

I've never played the Halo games, so I have no idea if I'd enjoy the game or not... but I guess there aren't many people like me, so maybe it's not worth releasing a demo for?

if you are new to the series pick up halo 1, it plays fine on a 360, and is a great game, should be able to find it for next to nothing also

I could not get into the original Halo due to the repetitive skins. I do plan to pick up #3 though.

surely you know someone with an x360 who is going to get halo3? and im shocked to hear youve never played any of them, halo has solid gameplay and multiplayer, should be a must have for any x360 owner.

I played Halo like once... never liked it over Unreal Tournament, but I bought it because well... it's a popular game and how much of a noob would I be if someone came over and said, "hey dawg, you got Halo 3?" and I responded, "No hommes." I'd be the laughingstock of the 360 community!

So yeah, Amazon Prime free 2-day shipping. But one thing I don't get (and this is going off-topic)... why is Amazon Prime 1-day shipping sometimes 1.99 and sometimes 3.99? Halo 3 was listed as 3.99 at checkout but I recently bought 3 games with 1-day shipping and they were 1.99 each. I bought the two Kevin Smith stand-up DVDs and they were 3.99 a piece. I'm kind of annoyed since there's no clear-cut price but I like 1.99 more than 3.99 🙂.

hrmm well i just played some halo3 deathmatch with my friends and uh, might as well have been playing halo2 heh, there was a turret that was awesome and what not but yeah. i guess most of the happy happy joy joy is in the single player content. we tried to get 3 man coop going but it said it could only do 2 man coop 🙁 i hope we were just doing something wrong. im really hoping we can get some 4 player coop going this weekend because the deathmatch really doesnt keep us entertained.

The draw is the different gametypes and map editor. Without that you get what you said.

Also you have to do xbox live to do 3 or 4 player co-op.

Ughhh I most certainly can. I played until you started playing as the alien and stopped. People have opinions, yours nor mine is the holy grail.

so we need 2 xboxes? or is that 4 player split screen co-op while on xbox live? if so why the fuck do they make you have to be on xbox live? they just want to sell subscriptions?

I'm sure they could dumb down the graphics enough to accommodate 4-player, splitscreen co-op, but Bungie must have deemed that the sacrifices weren't worth it. It's pretty common to see 4-player, splitscreen deathmatch modes but not co-op.

I believe R6: Vegas and Gears of War were this way as well. You can make the argument that Gears didn't allow 4 players for story reasons, but that didn't stop R6 from allowing 2-player co-op when there was really only a single guy in some of the story. Splitscreen co-op just takes more power. But I'm sure the $$$ reason you gave doesn't hurt, either.

EDIT: I misread your question. You can have 2 player splitscreen on each Xbox. So I believe you can have 2 360s both in splitscreen up to 4 360s with one person on each. For 4-player co-op you don't simply have to be logged into Xbox Live, you have to be on separate 360s.

if you think halo 3 plays just like halo 2 ... well you must not have played halo 2 that much or just were not very good at it.

i did not realize how many flaws halo 2 had until probably 2-3 months after I had been playing multiplayer and was actually pretty good at it.

the majority of those flaws have been fixed.

and i THINK but am not 100% that you can only do 2 people co-op on one xbox360, and I know for a fact you can do 4 player co-op on live.

Yep. 2-player local co-op and 4-player co-op on Live. Can do up to 4 player split screen multi-player local too.

any examples?

I have played halo 2 and halo, I am not super good at it but thats probably only because ive never really tried to be. using analog sticks to move and aim gave me a headache for some reason when i really start to try to play good. but i did run a few halo 2 tourneys(used to work in a lan center) and im interested in knowing exactly what youre talking about there.

- Starting weapon. In Halo 2 the starting weapon was the SMG, which was underpowered and was only any good if duel wielding. In H3 they give you a more versatile starting weapon that cannot be duel wielded and can hold its own in close combat. The SMG would get raped by any other gun in H2 when you respawned.

- Plasma Pistol tracking. In Halo 2 that thing could literally go around walls. Now the tracking is much less, and if you walk around holding a full charge, it drains the power of it.

- No magnetic bullets. We all know what "sticky aim" is in console shooters, but in H2 it also had magnetic bullets. What I mean by that is that you could aim to the left of a player, above their shoulders, and you would still hit them because it pulls the bullet to the target. There is a video on youtube showing this off and has a big comparison between h1 and h2.

- Respawning. In H2, the respawning was determined by where your enemies were. In H3, you respawn determined by where your teammates are. Players started to know where they could be on levels in H2 and kill enemeies and would know where they would respawn, and could force em to respawn in areas with crappy guns, no guns, etc.

- The Sword. In H2 the sword had unlimited ammo and you could chop people up very quickly. It now has ammo on it and it slices a lot slower than it did before.

- The melee lunge. It has been toned down quite a bit than what it was in H2, which is definitely a good thing.

There are definitely small other ones, and there are stil some flaws that I wish were fixed and others do too, but for what it is it's still a kick ass game and I love it 😀
