I have always been a user of soud blaster but I have been hearing from a few people that many motherboards (like the asus 939 delux sli) have great, if not better sound then the sb. Is this true?

If I upgrade my mobo should I transfer over my sb aud zs 7.1 or just use the mobo?

Mobo sound is fine for most people.

Usually, only use a sound card if you want like 1 percent less cpu useage

I think anand reviewed the sound of these mobos, so chcek that out

Not trying to be a smartass . . . why not hook up the mobo, listen to the onboard sound and make a decision as to which you think sounds better?

no offense taken. I will probaly do that but I just wanted some peoples feedback who use the mobo sound or tried it.

I will post my opinions once I try it.

I think a lot has to do with the speakers and what you want. I have an SB Live and a TBSC just collecting dust since I built my AV8 a couple of months ago. I had the same thoughts as you but have stayed with the OB sound since I only use some 2.1 Altec Lansing speakers. If I had more room and the ability to enjoy it I would swap it in a second. My nephew has an Audigy with some 5.1's and enough room enough to enjoy them. The difference is amazing, at least to my ears.
