I nuked some food with the saran wrap over it. As I recall, it melted the saran wrap. The food was in the microwave for a good 5 or 6 minutes though.

Undetermined. Just like how some research says microwaving microwavable plastic with food contained is bad.

Some scientists say that plastic of all forms might decompose into semi-toxic or toxic materials in small quantities. That doesnt stop me from taking left over dinner to work for lunch occasionally.
