All fast food is made like that. It's all prepackaged. Of course, the McDs in my hometown used to have someone bake fresh biscuits for them (an old lady), and we used to be able to put Tony Chachere's on the meat.

no you dum dum. McDonald is just a restaurant. I don't see how a restaurant can be evil. They just serve food after you pay.

the nutritional information should be enough to convince many people that mc'e'deez is indeed evil.

I disagree with that. However, most "low fat" food have mondo sugars added, which makes them even more fattening than regular, non "low fat" foods.

Quite the contrary, you have to actually physically go to one of their stores voluntarily and pay for the food. If eveyone stopped eating there, they would go out of business.
Take some responsibility for yourself, get over it, and get a life.

um, you are about 200 million heavy on that stat...
try 291,461,664 million people in the us

According to the census.gov site as of 23:39 EDT Jul 09, 2003 there are an estimated 291,463,413 people.
So there are now 1749 more future McGriddle consumers. :)

I've only had the McGriddle once and it was good.

Fats in foods make you feel "full" faster. Also, when people see "low fat" they think they can eat all they want of it. Combine those factors and you have a nation of people getting fat on non-fat crap.

Then those people are just stupid, even stupider than the people who eat at McDonalds or fast food daily 2-3 meals a day. 1gm fat = 9 calories, whereas 1gm protein/carb = 4 calories. You can eat twice as much of the "good stuff" so to speak and still consume as many calories as you would with one "fatty" meal. It's all about self control - you have to be able to control eating the fattening stuff as well as the non-fattening.

Who said people were smart? Eating carbs spikes your insulin, which makes your body more likely to raise your levels of fat. Low fat crap is usually low protein/high carb crap.

Fats are not any more fattening than carbs. It's a myth that fats in foods make you fatter than carbs. To say a food is "fattening" or "non-fattening" is a myth that is making people in the US a bunch of fat, lazy pigs who believe the key to staying thin lies in what they eat. ALL food is fattening if you're not getting any exercise.

It's not about self control in how much you eat. It's about self control in how much you exercise and the balance of foods you eat. Your mind and body have a set point at how many calories it thinks it needs, take in too little, and all you do is teach your body how to better store fat for the next starvation cycle. It's yo-yo dieting like this that is making people fatter and fatter, even though they diet like crazy.

Finally, it's not the amount of food that fills you up, it's the hormones in your brain that tell you you're full. They kick in faster with fatty foods. Why else would a person eat only one burger or steak, and feel full, while they can eat a whole loaf of bread or box of crackers and still feel hungry?

Is this enough to stop eating McGriddles?
I'm not sure that would be enough for me. Of course the abdominal cramping and massive diarrhea would be consuming my thoughts at that point had I just eaten a mcdonalds product. I feel for the plight of the poor non-unionized mcdonalds worker, but as I was praying for death's sweet embrace, I wouldn't care.
