Is Maximus IV Gene-Z recommended over the P8Z68 -PRO???

Am in the process of making a good PC. Have ordered the i5 2500k and had also ordered the P8Z68-VPRO Gen3. Now, my hardware guy says that its not available. So the next best thing to that is the Maximus IV Gene-Z Gen3. However, i have a Corsair Obsidian 800D and its absolutely ridiculous to put in a mATX board in that monster. However, are there any reasons why the Maximus IV geneZ may be actually better than the P8Z68-VPRO Gen3????

Better?

I own one, and I cannot think of any other than it packing an incredible amount of features in such a small form factor. It really is a fantastic board that has all you'll need unless you're trying to do something like Quadfire. I really love everything about it. My favorite board I've ever owned.

And RE: your 800D with that board - I am certain I have seen several impressive looking builds with that board, SLI and Corsair H100 cooling in your case. I don't have the link handy, but one of my favorite builds was exactly that. It looked great and ran super cool w/ heavy OC. Google it. You won't be the only one with that setup.

Good Lord!!! And here i was thinking i was the only one. Checked out the link and it looks seriously impressive. Thanks man. I hope my hardware guy has the Gene-Z in stock.

Btw those pics are that of an EVGA Classified mobo, isnt it???

There's a member who owns both the gene-z and extreme-z; and he confirmed that OC capabilities of both cards are the same. I would think that the main differences between the gene-z and the PRO are the I/O and PCIe support.

DERP!! I liked the wrong photos. Sorry.

But honestly - it's a great setup. Don't sweat it.
