is matched "stepping" still req. for Xeons?

Building-out a new Dual Xeon (hopefully), and the box already has a single Xeon CPU. The MB is dual, so I obviously want to add a second CPU!

I remember having to match the basics of a P3, PLUS match the "Stepping" of the CPUs as well -- which is apparently an internal version number of the chip or something.

Is there such a thing with the Xeons? Or can I just go buy a same-speed, same FSB retail box and assume they'll be happy as a couple?

NOTE: In case it's important; not planning on any overclocking at this time.

Thanks for any info,

Stepping hasn't been an issue on Intel processors in a long time(first gen P3s). Matched stepping is nice to have but not nessasary. The least you want to make sure you have is the same speed, FSB and cache size on the second processor and you should be fine.
