Is long stress testing necessary?

Im pretty anal about my CPU stability. I generally will stress test my CPU with various programs for a week or so after setting up the overclock.

Alot of people think i am insane but i have found numerous errors after 3-4 days that required tweaking of my overclock, and just because it took 3-4 days to surface during stress testing doesnt mean there isnt a program out there that will make that error occur much faster in a real world application.

I would much rather spend the extra time up front than try and track down a issue later.
