Is Lightning Audio any good?

I thought I heard Rockford Fosgate bought them out, but I also know that there are a lot of better companies than RF out there. But I think they should be good enough for me. I was just wondering cause best buy has 2 either 10 or 12 inch Lightning audio subs on sale for either 50.00 or 60.00 bucks. I am looking to get a decent audio system for my car. I don't need massive bass, just enough to feel and hear it. These subs are rated at 300watt max and a friend told me that isn't great, but like I said I don't need the guy half a mile ahead of me to hear my stereo, so do you think these are okay?
 
A friend has some Lightning Audio 10" subs and they sound really good. They also look really cool with the lightning bolts and such. You can mod the amps too with extra fans and capacitors etc.
