Is LCD Technology still getting cheaper?

When do you think it will come to the point like CRTS where it's as cheap as its goanna get? I remember that back in like '95 CRT TVs were quite expensive but then when LCDs were out an about, they were cheap, maybe it's just my poor memory or something.. I was also thinking about that awesome LCD technology that is supposedly suppose to wipe the floor with current CRT and LCD technology or something like that and was hoping that it would have the same benefits of discounts there have been on LCDs like there are now..

Sub $1000 40"+ LCD TV (Not EDTV)?
