aka: am I justified in wanting to buy a new one?
lately I've noticed some pretty bad persistent imaging on my primary monitor that I use for gaming... I don't necessarily notice it in-game, but when I close out or switch to something else, I can see a screen impression of the static UI elements (especially bad when playing WoW or Civ for multiple hours).
I can turn the monitor off and they'll go away after a couple hours (typically overnight, since I don't run my computer 24/7), but I'm curious if this is normal or if it could be signs of an aging screen.

My philosophy is that your monitor is the main PC component you look at every day, so don't skimp.
