Is labor force participation higher than the numbers suggest?

I was thinking so because of taxes... I don't blame HENRYs making, say, $80k/year to attempt getting out of the system, as they pay a shitload of taxes if they don't have kids and if they don't get out of the system.

It seems to me like everyone I know (except for myself) has a job and that maybe the whole crisis was manufactured by the MSM to support more govt intervention. The number of people on this forum who say they have a job is also pretty high.

Anyway, I don't want any replies if they'd incriminate though.

I do not think so. Although I have no proof.

Even if a large number were off the books they would still be spending.
And the GDP would be higher would it not?
The GDP is an important # that is why the way it is calculated was revised (in order to make it higher).

I think inflation would be higher too. One of the goals is to keep inflation up.
Inflation is a hidden tax. The gov. needs all the taxes it can get. Inflation also benefits debtors. And the world runs on debt.

Everything that the gov. can do to make everything appear "just peachy" is and/or will be done.
